Ceramics is offered within the School of Visual Arts & Design. With a long tradition of ceramics from Bendigo since the gold rushes of the mid 1800s, contemporary ceramic practice is a major study in the Bachelor of Visual Arts. Honours and postgraduate qualifications are available within the School, which provides access to well-equipped studios in a regional setting. Occasional workshops delivered by national and international ceramic artists, including the judge of the biennial Sidney Myer International Ceramics Award are a feature of the ceramics program.
